Fly doves, fly

The title of the exhibition Fly doves, fly refers to a historical warning signal among gay men in Moscow: "Летите, голуби, летите". This phrase was used to warn of police and KGB raids, as men cruised public spaces and parks in the Russian capital. Golubój or голубой in Russian is a coded word that simultaneously refers to pigeons, the color light blue and gay men.
